On the morning of July 10th 2011, I went out to a newsagent and asked for “News of the World”. “Sold out!”. Tried another one. Sold out again! The third one! Luckily, still some left. Then I bought three, not in order to give money to the unethical business for sure. You know what it is for, right? One for myself, and two others for friends who think alike. So let me know whether you want one?
Today one newspaper running for centuries is selling its last weekly release before it is closed for ever because of the phone hacking scandal. It is News of the World, created in 1843, turned into a tabloid paper by Media Mogul Rupert Murdoch, very popular though. Sound sad? I am not sure. It is certainly a historical lesson to learn by those, not only people working in the media, but everyone who is required to conduct ethically in their professions.
